Designed and developed Energy Management System for National Institute Wind Energy, Chennai. Designed Wireless Interface module for Remote Turbine Parameter Monitoring System at Wind Turbine Research Station (WTRS), Kayathar. Developed the front end software to remotely monitor the Measured Parameters of WTRS, Kayathar at NIWE Chennai EMS platform.
The Energy Management System (EMS) acquires data from different energy generation and consuming areas in various sections of the NIWE and logs the information and generates reports. This information can be used for taking actions leading to improvement in energy efficiency. Data collected from Controllers installed inside the wind turbines at WTRS, Kayathar such as energy, wind velocity, wind direction, temperature, speed (rotor & generator), yaw control and vibrations using Modbus RTU. This data is transferred to base station through Wireless Protocol and is in turn transferred to NIWE EMS at Chennai through TCP/IP protocol. Based on ‘on-line’ measured nodal data at NIWE and the data fed from turbine at WTRS, various information pertaining to the parameter monitoring are calculated and displayed in an GUI.
